Yeah, that's a great idea, and I know that it's confused a few people before. I don't see why anyone would *not* want to use widescreen patches by now, and of course, the 4 games that have bad side effects will be kept out of the main builds. By now, there are more PC gamers with widescreen monitors than those with 4:3. 16:9 is the current standard for gaming. Some widescreen patches also have some great side effects. For example, Psychonauts fixes a bad bloom filter. Fatal Frame 1-3 removes a blurry filter. Baroque removes ghosting. On 16:9 monitors, lots of games have FMV fixes which automatically fills up the entire screen. And of course, some patches fix the skewed widescreen like Final Fantasy 12.

well pcsx2 could be implemented like dolphin on how it displays the picture of the game and shows it's compatibility. on 1.4.0.

Purity. Some people want to duplicate the original experience.

I'm just saying SOME people don't. Some people prefer the original experience, some people prefer a beefed up experience. With an emulator, it's always best to have "options." Forcing it either way is not a good idea. Gaming Rig: Intel i7 6700k @ 4.8Ghz | GTX 1070 TI | 32GB RAM | 960GB(480GB+480GB RAID0) SSD | 2x 1TB HDD

Tbh. the way it works now is just fine too and I don't mind it if it stays that way. AMD Ryzen 5 3600 @ 3.60~4.20 GHz | Corsair Vengeance LPX 32 GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3200
