First time user and need a few tips

I recently installed this and I am blown away. After play Persona 4 on a tube TV to a LCD TV to a PC with LED monitor, the difference is stunning.

I am playing all the default settings from the install except the graphics plug-in. I've changed the resolution to x2.

I seem to be getting hiccups in the audio, short stutters that are noticeable enough to be annoying. I figure it may be because a dip in the FPS, that's why I changed the resolution to x2 from x4. I am not sure if it's gotten any better yet to be honest.

I am really not sure the best way to go about trying to solve it so I am hoping to get some answers on what I can try. I am still in the process of setting up the software, so maybe I'll eventually figure it out.

My specs are:

AMD Phenom II 965 3.40
8 gigs DDR3
GTX 460
Windows 7
PCSX2 V1.0.0

That weak gpu wont help beyond x2 native.
Setting internal res higher than x2 will cause slowdowns.

Whoa now, say what you want about me but leave the GPU outta this. The GTX 460 is not what I would consider to be a weak card. The GTX460 is getting dated but even according to most charts that rate GPUs it's still fairly high on the list. It's directly beneath the GTX 650 Ti which is a newer card.

@Crazy - I am not sure what Direct X I am using, I'll try your suggestion when I get home and see how it works. Just because I am so new, where will I be able to change what version of Direct X I am using. In the plugin section where I changed the native resolution?

Another question, how do use the widescreen patches for various games?

I was playing P4 in 16:9, does that mean it already has the widescreen patch or does the patch affect the way the game looks in 16:9?
