I've played this game before so I'm not overly interested in the FMVs but I'd like them to not take forever and a day to go by if I can't skip them.

Getting a stronger CPU might be the only choice for now, you can always just watch the FMVs somewhere else like in youtube, it's a total of like 11 FMVs in the game.

Ugh, I tried using a speedhack or two to get through the FMVs and afterwards I disabled them but my game is stuck in fast mode. I completely disabled all speedhacks and it's still zooming through, what have I done? >_<

Sounds like you have disabled Framelimiting, press F4 ingame to see if that helps.
