Freezing Issues with Mega Man X: Command Mission

I've been playing Mega Man X: Command Mission and have been having it freeze every so often. I am running it off the disc so I know that is playing part in the freezes. I'm tried a few things and thought it reduced the amount of freezing but I was wrong.

Wrong thread for this problem, but...

it is advisable to update the emulator itself first by using the PCSX2 nightly versions (bug reporting rule). Then play the game with the default settings and the software renderer, as these are the most accurate settings. If there are still problems afterwards, it would be good to post the emulog for the helpers.

For the emulog with PCSX2 1.7 and higher:
In the emulator, click on „Tools” and tick „Enable File Logging”. Then the emulator creates a emulog.txt file in the „logs” folder of PCSX2. Good luck! Smile

Quick edit: Please explain your problem with this game in more detail so that there are more clues. For example, whether the problem only happens at certain moments in the game or randomly and what exactly you mean by „freeze”. Is it just the game that freezes, or does the emulator crash? If you find crash files in your PCSX2 directory (for example crash-2024-02-11-06-50-34-181.dmp and crash-2024-02-11-06-50-34-181.txt), you can also post them here.

Yeah, I had a feeling I was in the wrong forum but I wasn't sure...

I'll try the update later. But as for the freezing, it isn't a complete stop, more like a pause, sometimes as if its loading something. I think one example is when I use the Final Strike (an overkill attack when an enemy reaches low health.) The game pauses for a second before resuming when I press the button to activate it. It pauses at other more random times too, which can get annoying. Fortunately, I'm playing a turn-based RPG, so its not stopping when timing's crucial.

[Edit] The update seemed to reduce the freezes by a lot but it still happens sometimes. It's getting late, so I'll see about getting more information tomorrow.

Bump, I guess. I put the playthrough on hold and am currently playing other games, but I'd like to come back to Command Mission and maybe a few more PS2 games. I'd kinda prefer to play them "legit" (mostly by playing via disc rather than a ROM.)

make an iso from your disc. it's the 1st step
