GRAPHICS PROBLEM

Hi guys!
I am new to the forums, so please excuse me if i'm posting this on the wrong discussion. My problem is this:
When i started the game in the emulator, both image and sound were like at slow motion, which is extremely annoying!! I somehow managed to fix the sound, but the game still runs in slow motion, so now, they don't match!!
If anyone can help, i'll be very grateful!

pc specs, plugins settings, pcsx2 version, game you're trying to run ?

intel pentium dual cpu t3400 @2.16ghz, 64-bit operating system my graphic card is ATI radeon 3470. i have windows 7.
about the plugins settings the slow motion sound comes with SPU2-X 1.1.0 and the correct sound comes with P.E.Op.S. SPU 1.9.0. whatever i try with the graphics in this area of settings doesn't work!
version of pcsx2 is 0.9.6
game im trying to run is lord of the rings:the third age

Use the 0.9.7 beta, it should be faster (but your cpu is not fast for PCSX2 so do not expect full speed): http://pcsx2.net/downloads.php?p=publicbeta
