GT130M 1GB overclocking
#1
i keep getting suprised everytime i push it further

no artifacts or anything even at my current big overclock.
and the heat is well maintained with my antec notebook cooler 200 (79 celcius during load)

these are my current clocks wich run stable
[Image: clocksl.jpg]

my 1GB GDDR2 manages to outperform a 512MB GDDR3 now in 3Dmark05 (shaders on the GDDR2 are slightly better stock, in case u got confused)
12196 points

standard clocks are 600-500-1700
overclocks resulting in 775 / 600 = 1,291 (29,1%) CORE
630 / 500 = 1,260 (26%) MEM
1700 / 1500 = 1,133 (13,3%) SHADERS
-------------
!!22,8%!! AVARAGE

so how far did any of you manage to push it stable?

interesting, have you tried to modify the memory latency? it helps alot on ATI cards

I can get a 20% overclock on my GPU, but it only equates to about 5-10% real world improvement (something akin to 5-8fps in most games). The question becomes, do you get a sizable improvement?

I generally don't see enough improvement in most of my graphic card overclocks to make it worth my while. Maybe if I was running in a crossfire situation with multiple GPUs overclocked...

it adds quite a signifacant boost, i'd say bout 15% in actual game performence. for far cry 2 for example i can put 4x AA with everything high now where at first i couldnt with 2x AA

to give an impression, a GT130M is a 9650M GT with higher clocks but less power usage/heat/smaller, its able to stand at 9700M GT GDDR2 speeds now

and @ ardhi , its an nvidia not an ati

why settle with less if you can get more out of it, besides i needed a laptop cooler for the CPU overclock anyways

you can modify the bios to edit the latency, its nvidia way Smile

yes but with nvidia system tools it only overclocks when the configured programs start and after program shutdown it goes back to standard clocks

i only need my laptop cooler when i start up a game Smile

3Dmark's a benchmark.

Real world performance > benchies
