You may just have a damaged sector on your game disc. It has happened to me with Onimusha 2 disc. Sucks but the game kind of sucked anyway to me. You just might have to re-buy the game.

i just redid all the progress i lost. and its working fine. i think its just when i paused the emulator while i was being spawned into town messed it up. i havent had a problem since then.
