Games Unplayable? i7 2600k Radeon 7770
#1
Ok, So im not new to emulators, I think i have good understanding of the settings and have read multiple guide on setting it up for certain games.

I recently upgraded to a i7-2600k, Radeon 7770 2gb OC, 16gb Ram.

but for the life of me I cant get some games even playable at this point.

Final Fantasy X/X-2, Final Fantasy XII, and DQ8.

I have tried EVERYTHING and there just some insane slowdowns, and renders the games unplayable, just wondering if this is cause PS2 emulation is just that demanding? I see videos of people with less specs then mine running these games fine, ANY HELP would be great.

Have you tried enabling the MTVU hack under speedhacks. Also, what clockspeed are you running at?

I can play all the Final Fantasy's you mentioned at full speed upscaled and I have the non k version of your cpu running the same clockspeed so your pc is definitely powerfull enough. What version of the emulator are you using?

See thats what I have seen and heard, Im using the most recent version, I normal upscale games aswell (Dolphin does this fine up to 4x before any minor slow downs) cant understand why PS2 giving so many problems, even at native I get these crazy slow downs.

Your CPU might be throttling. The GPU is okay but not the best, might wanna stick to 2x scaling at best with it. Make sure your CPU speed isn't jumping up and down for no reason. Get CPU-Z (it's free) and monitor the CPU usage while you play.

Hmmm, are you playing straight from the discs or running iso?
