^ 8 cores won't help with PCSX2. PCSX2 can use 3 cores max.
A better upgrade would be to an x3xx chip, like the 6300. Those can achieve good performance in PCSX2 with an overclock that almost all of the chips can attain. 4.2 on an x3xx is enough for all but the most demanding games.
