Gran Turismo 4 not launching with 0.9.8
#1
Hello everybody,

Ive been enjoying GT4 with the previous versions of pcsx2 and ive never had any serious issues with the game.

Now with version 0.9.8 i cant seem to get the game started.
As soon as i start the game, it freezes and the screen flickers.

Below you can see a screenshot i took of the moment where the game freezes.

Any hints or information is greatly appreciated!

Greets Qeta.

Hint: Your PCSX2 settings hold much more information than that black screen.

The same ISO worked before?

Are you having any trouble with other games now?

ye i thought id make a screen so maiby there are more people with the same problem, but it looks like i am the only one.

Its actually not an ISO, its the original disk. And yes it DID work on the older releases of pcsx2, ive just tried it and it works fine.

But on 0.9.8 it just hangs at the same location every time.
Im copying the LOG of pcsx2 while launching GT4, maiby it clears things up:

It would be best if you make an ISO of your game with ImgBurn and try running the game from that ISO with the internal PCSX2 ISO loader, DVD9 games have some problems running from the disc.

I did what you suggested, and it seems to work now!
Thanks.

Although its weird that my (original) disk works with the older versions of Pcsx2. Maiby something the developers should be looking in to?

Anyways, problem solved, and thats most important.

@Qeta_Ks

i had the same problem with my first copy. I did use UltraISO for my the Image. U must uncheck the 'ISO Volume Filter' option to get the iso work. U can verfiy this by setting your pcsx Log Source 'CDVD Access' on. The Game freezes once as it access 'Sector 17'
