(Guide) Monster rancher 4 Disk Swapping

Please note that this isnt FULLY working, the disk system will work, and recognize a disk, but it will not give you anything other than a Mushtan (Plant/?)

First Method:
Plugin Daemon tools based

Requirements:
Daemon tools
PCSX2
Monster rancher 4.iso (Extracted from Disk)
Disk drive (Put disks into)

1. Start up daemon tools and click on "Add DT Virtual Drive"

2. It should now look like this:

Click on the Mount button (Green Play Button), and select Monster rancher 4 :

3. It should now look like this:

Now Start up PCSX2 and goto the "Config" section:

4. Click on "Plugin/BIOS selector"
Should now look like this:
Select "cdvdGigaherz" (Which is selected by Default)
Then click "OK"

5. Now hover over "CDVD" and select "Plugin"

6. Now hover over "Plugin Menu" And select "Plugin Settings..."

Should now look like this:
And select whichever Virtual drive daemon tools created (For me this is 'E:') And click "OK"

7. Now start up Monster rancher 4, and you will eventually get to this screen:
DONT PRESS X YET!
And switch over to PCSX2, Select "Plugin settings":[Image: MR4diskswapplugintutorial7.png]
Now switch your Virtual Drive to your Disk Drive (The real one)(For me this is 'D:') :
Click "OK"
NOTE: IF YOU GET AN ERROR, RESTART PCSX2 AND TRY DOING THE SAME THING, EXCEPT ON THE NEXT SCREEN.(After pressing X)

8. Now switch back over to monster rancher 4, and Press X, Now it should switch to this:
Ignore it and press X

9. Now it should look like this:
DONT PRESS X YET

Switch back over to PCSX2 and goto "Plugin Settings"
And switch it back to your Virtual Drive (For me this is 'E:')

Now switch back to Monster rancher 4, and Press X, From this point on you dont have to do anything, and it should end up giving you a Mushtan (Plant/?)

NOTE: I will be adding more ways to do this soon. (There are currently 3 ways)

Nice guide Wink Any particular reason you're not using the latest 1.0.0 release? Tongue

probably didn't know about it, they joined the last few days

edit: and personally I wonder why a PCSX2 guide is in the hardware section?

@Bositman, I was unaware I was using an old version, I downloaded PCSX2 a couple months back.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

So, Why was this moved? Was the other section the wrong place?

Also, It would be great if any of the Developers would work on fixing this, The game would be well worth my time again. (Without the disk system, you only have 1 or 2 monsters out of 326...)

not a dev, but I may have some ideas, I just need to discuss it with an actual pcsx2 coder (and then I will try to build it)

well.. I know a few things about the disc swap system, and I've been trying to make it read the swaps. I also know PS1 games work fine with the current system

Have you ever looked around Monster Metropolis? They seem to know just about everything the system has to offer. (They even created ways to make a 'fake' cd for monsters.)

the MR Disc system uses subchannels. it's EASY to fake those
