Guitar hero 2 black screen freeze on boot
#1
This problem is driving me up the wall, Google provided no answers I searched the best I could on these forums, but nothing

I boot Guitar hero 2 and it seems like it doesn't even begin to work, just a black screen with no audio like it's frozen that way.
Tried on multiple settings dx11, opengl, dx9
Tried disabling automatic game hacks/fixes
I'm thinking it's the stock version of gsdx maybe
It was the default gsdx version I selected for pcsx2 1.4

Please help, I paid for an official rock band 2 guitar to use with my usb adapter, and everything already because I seen the only problems people had were slow emulation

Specs:
Windows 10
X5470 xeon 3.33 OC'd to 4.28
16gb 1333mhz ddr3
Gtx 960 4gb FTW

Edit:

Guitar Hero 1 has no issues, other than a split second lag once in a while. While 2 is still not working. Has anyone tested this on win10, or the latest version of pcsx2?

I think you need to use Full Boot for GH2, worth a shot anyway.
If that doesn't work, can you post your emulog.txt file from the logs folder and also mention what version of pcsx2 you are using etc.

Thanks for the response, and I've tried full boot, and fast. Full boot gets as far as the playstation 2 logo then the screen is black. I'm using version 1.4 of pcsx2. I can't find a logs folder in my pcsx2 folder. Sorry if I'm pretty noobish with this emulator. I've been using it only a full 2 weeks

If you're suggesting the iso is corrupted then I can test, and see. If someone with Win10, and same version of gsdx, and pcsx2 1.4.0 can confirm it is working on their setup it would be helpful

from the looks of his emulog, not sure why you are even helping since he apparently downloaded the game, hence the "F:\PS2\PS2 roms\Guitar Hero II (USA).iso".  "Guitar Hero II (USA)" being an obvious giveaway...just saying.

If you could refrain from witchhunting, I'd appreciate it. Who are we to say that's not just how he names his ISO's and folders? A lot of people call them roms and he might have multiple games from different regions via import, or might just like that to be clear. You don't know this, nor do we, and unless he says he downloaded it illegally or has it blatantly obvious like "Downloads\Guitar Hero 2\Guitar Hero 2.iso" then there is no decent proof of wrongdoing. It's not very nice to go after people in the hope they might have broken the law.
