According to reviews the best in that group is 4750 but I dont think it's commercial yet? next would be the Ati HD 3870 but if you're going for that price range might as well try to get a nvidia 9600gt or 8800/9800gt.

Order would be something like this from experience:
HD4750 > HD3870 > HD3850 > HD4650 > 9500gt > 8600gt > HD3650 > 9400gt

But again you didnt mention cards like 9600gt, 8800/9800gt and HD4670 which are better value (i've personally not seen any 4750 in action or just any )

Supposedly 4750s are basically a 40nm version of the 48xx? Seems to do well according to early reviews...

Basically go for whatever you can spend just dont go lower than a HD 3850 if you want to play nicely, as I mentioned before some good cards are the 9600/8800/9800 GT cards and higher from nvidia and from ATI just dont go lower than a HD 4670, other than that just spend how much you can/want. Oh also you dont want to go lower than 512MB GDDR3 for memory on those cards, other than that is up to you.
