.Hack//G.U. Ghosting effect
#1
Greetings folks,

over the last couple of days roaming the internet in finding a solution to this problem i have not managed to find a solution.

as i red everywhere any anywhere the ghosting effect in .hack//G.U is ratter common, even though people seem to find a solution i cannot seem to get my finger on it.

so .hack//G.U. is one of those games which i really really love without knowing why and thus i would like to play it with at little amount of problem as possible.
i dont mind it that the FPS ever so often drops to 40. but what is starting to bother me over time is the Ghosting effect. you know were a near transparent image is overlaying the current screen 2 or 3cm above the normal lvl.

i tried several things but seeing that i have no knowledge of what to edit or to change i am afraid of blowing everything up (figurly speaking).

so here i diside to ask.

does anyone know a good bio's or way which will remove this ghosting effect for me?

if you need any information about what i currently use, do ask for em.

righty,

Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.

windows 7 64bit
intel core i5-2500k CPU 3.3ghz quad-core
8gb ram
directX 11
(graphic card) Nvidia GeForce GTX 560

The version of PCSX2 you are using.

Version 0.9.8

Any non default settings you are using.

i use all default settings, except for bios which are like so old. (like all from 2006 or so)
(these are the plugins)
GS - GSdx 4600 (MSVC 15.00, SSE2) 0.1.16 [gsdx-see2-r4600]
PAD - LilyPad svn (r4510) 0.10.0 [lilypad-r4600]
SPU2 - SPU2-X r4600m 1.4.0 [spu2-x-r4600]
CDVD - cdvdGigaherz (r4510) 0.8.0 [cdvdGigaherz]
USB - USBnull Driver 0.7.0 [USBnull]
FW - FWnull Driver 0.7.0 [FWnull]
DEV9 - DEV9null Driver 0.5.0 [DEV9null]

What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

i can play magna carta with these settings just fine, but when i play .hack//G.U. the ghosting effect comes into play.
now this might be because this game was imported some time ago (because they dont sell this game in my country)

all games are Iso's (through cd)

1st of all i have no idea how to change it to "native" in the gsdx. the only options it shows in the GS are

GS - GSdx 4600 (MSVC 15.00, SSE2) 0.1.16 [gsdx-sse2-r4600]
GS - GSdx 4600 (MSVC 15.00, SSE41) 0.1.16 [gsdx-sse4-r4600]
GS - GSdx 4600 (MSVC 15.00, SSSE3) 0.1.16 [gsdx-ssse3-r4600]
GSnull Driver 0.1.0 [GSnull]

those are displayed as options in the plugins section.

as i have stated earlier, my knowledge of configuring the pcsx2 is limited.

as for the screenshot i can plug 1 from the internet that shows exactly the same problem as i have.

Change your GS plugin to SSE41 version, then click Configure beside it...

You should find the Native option inside, tick it...

I noticed this ghosting in other games too (Psychonauts for example). It happens when you use any DX mode, using software mode (F9) solves the problem.

Unfortunately in software mode you lose the ability to use higher resolutions.

yes! thank god, the ghosting effect disapeared! <3 thank you so much.

i will make sure to contact you if i get any more problems.
now to find a way to get a solid 60Fps because due to the native the fps went down to 40~45. which is abit low.

unfortunately by having downloaded that SVN the fps dropped dramatically during combat. which did not happen before.
