Comments:
Situation got a bit better - it wents past the first loading and shows "Checking memory card" screen but hangs with a black screen after it. The reason appears to be EE since it shows crapload of these strings:
Quote:Vif1: Unknown VifCmd! [ae]
(EE pc:001F5824) TLB Miss, addr=0x1614 [store]
If you switch EE mode to Interpreter then after "Checking Memory Card" the game will show the first frame of EA logo FMV and then PCSX2 will crash with assertion failure showing the following:
Quote:..\..\x86\newVif_Dynarec.cpp(181) : assertion failed:
Function: VifUnpackSSE_Dynarec::ModUnpack
Thread: EE Core
Condition: false
Message: Vpu/Vif - Invalid Unpack! [3]

Stacktrace:

[03] 0x006EC21E
[04] 0x006E6FBC
[05] 0x0055D7D2
Not sure it FMV movies are what makes the game crash.

"Checking Memory Card" screen used to be broken with the console saying something about "microVU1 illegal opcode" but I guess it has been fixed now.

Bugs:
Hangs after "Checking Memory Card" screen.

I've managed to get into the main menu by enabling "Skip MPEG hack" during "Checking Memory Card" screen. But the game freezes during loading after I select "New Game".

Funny, if you start the game with the halved base framerate (25 fps for PAL) then it will show intro movies and then crash. PCSX2 is so unpredictable.

Comments:
Problem is still the same as described here. However I was unable to get in the game menu using the "Skip MPEG hack" like Nik1895 suggested, instead I got this:
Quote:sceMpegIsEnd pattern found! Recompiling skip video fix...
(EE pc:004CD9C0) TLB Miss, addr=0x1 [load]

(EE pc:00188CDC) TLB Miss, addr=0x4c [load]

Also when trying the SLUS_205.76;1 version of the game I immediately got the assertion failure when getting to the intro (only recommended hacks enabled), I attached a log for it.

The PS3 emu has issues with this game as well. That's all I know Tongue2

1.2.1 (r5875), no changes since my last report. It still freezes after the "Checking Memory Card" screen while the console shows lots of "TLB Miss" and "Unknown VifCmd" errors.

CPU: Intel Core i5 750 @ 2.6Ghz
GPU: ATi HD 4890 1GB

Build Description: PCSX2 1.3.0 (r5939)
BIOS Used: Europe v02.00(14/06/2004) Console

EE/VU Clamp modes: Normal/Normal
EE/VU Rounding: Chop/Chop

Speedhacks Used: N/A
Gamefixes Used: N/A

Bugs:
Game will not go past memory check on default emulator settings. If SuperVU legacy is used, the game can progress to the menus and will work correctly up until that point.
Any attempt to play the game will hang the emulator in a loop, repeating the same error every few seconds:

padman: DMA Busy ID = 26dc0002 ret = 0
SB_STAT = f0000102

The VifCmd errors that appear when running the game do not seem to be causing any problems during the intro, and there are no more TLB misses reported. Using the SuperVU however seems to reduce the size of the visible screen, leaving white garbage on the space to the right and bottom of the window.

Reducing base framerate in pcsx2_vm.ini to 25 appears to help this game's stability, e.g. this allows me to reliably get to the main menu. Same goes for Shark Tale: http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Shark-Tal...#pid372106
