Having about ~12 fps during gameplay
#11
Right, the biggest issue is that the GSdx version you use still tries to do some silly looking shadows.
Newer versions have a hack that removes that. Framerates go up 400% by this Tongue2
Also there's lots of general optimizations in both, pcsx2 and gsdx. So overall you should be able to
play this game at "usually" 60fps. (Some dialogue scenes will be slower, VUs work hard then, so a cpu limitation on your side.)

Alright. So I tried to install the r1888 beta. When I opened it up I got a few errors regarding Direct X 11 (if I'm not mistaken atleast.) The error name is "d3dx11_42.dll" so I've no idea what to do about that.

Anyway. When I try to configure it, it gives me 3 errors about that file mentioned above. After that I manage to get into the configuration. In the Graphics section I only have ZeroGS 0.97.1 to work with. The GSdx aren't there. Assuming all 3(?) of them are directed towards DX11.

Using ZeroGS makes the game start atleast. But my controller is out of function for some reason. So I can't even get to start the game to see any difference. I've rebound it for the beta and so, so it should be functional as it worked to bind.

Any clues?

And once again, thanks for all help and quick replies so far.

(EDIT: so I tried installing some update for Direct X (considering I only have win XP I can only use dx9) and I somehow found the other graphic modes, but controller still unavailable when playing.)

Update your directx to august 2009

Not sure what updating it to august 2009 would do, but I did.

My controller still isn't functional with the beta. Any clue why? I was still capable of binding the controller so it is detecting it at least. But once in game nothing happens.

Yes known issue, but you may manually bind keys by editing Lilypad.ini

According to my lilypad.ini it seems to be bound already.

Binding 14=0x00040007, 0, 25, 65536, 0, 0

I'm just assuming it's what I've bound. Unless something's wrong.

This should make you stop seeing the missing files messages and let you use GSdx, so if you can use the GSdx 1873 revision with D3D10 (hardware) renderer you should get playable speeds now.

I think I might have a clue as to what's wrong. Try downloading CPU-Z and run it as you're running PCSX2 and see if your clock rate is indeed 3GHZ. Of course, it might not be the case and I could be wrong, but it never hurts to try. Tongue

@Shadow Lady
It's Windows XP though. :o
Nappa: Vegeta! What does the scouter say about his power level?
Vegeta: It's...one thousand and six.
Nappa: Wh-...really?
Vegeta: Yeah! Beat him up Nappa!
Nappa: Yay!
