Help for configuration
#1
Hi,
I'm trying to play MGS3 but I can't get a normal game experience. I used your guide to configure PCSX2 but I get either slow framerate in cinematics and glitches in HW mode (http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016...-58-am.jpg) or slow framerate in menus, cinematics, codec (no glitches though) in SW mode.

My PC is a AMD FX 8320 (8 cores 3.5GHz) and a Radeon R9 280X (3GB RAM) with 8GB of RAM. Seems powerful enough, even when I get low framerates, neither proc or GC aren't fully used (CPU is used on 4 cores).
These are the plugins I use (I picked according to the guide if I understood it well) : http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016...-15-pm.jpg
Here is the GS configuration (shader is by default, doesn't help for my problem whatever the settings are) : http://image.noelshack.com/fichiers/2016...-17-pm.jpg
I tried many random GS plugins/configuration to see what could help, it's always the same or worse.

Can someone help please?

Overclock your CPU over 4.0ghz
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Still looking for a solution.
I tried enabling speed hacks via the GS core presets config, I can get 50 fps (PAL) during cinematics in HW mode now, though the glitches are still there (same vertical stripes). BUT, when I'm using the codec or menus, still get 25/26 fps.
Anyone got that problem before (glitches and low framerate in menus)?

EDIT : I just managed to run it 1080p (I couldn't before) and now I get 50 fps in the menus. BUT, I noticed that in the codec screen, My VRAM gets full. It uses about 2GB in game, 800MB in menus, but 3GB in codec screen.

OK still searching, but I found this which made me laugh a bit http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Metal-Gea...light=mgs3
So ofc I tried (god knows why, probably because I know what the next comments would have been if I didn't) to overclock and ofc it didn't help *****. But now that I can tell myself that I'm not totally stupid, I know anything else than help for CONFIGURING like my post is titled, will be useless (and still ignored). That's too bad I still need help because someone got the bright idea to *snip* the solution in that other thread... Would have been a shame.

That game is incredibly demanding and your CPU lacks good STR for it.
That's why I told you to over clock.
