Help me choose my first gpu
Hello everyone, I am a noob and the only thing I know about GPU's is that I need one. I 've tired running PCSX2 and get 17/30/40fps sound effects are off too. I'm looking to run ps2, xbox, gamecube games at full speed without having mess around with the config too much. The games I ran with slowdown - GTA3, Tomb Raider Legend, Silent Hill Shattered Memories, Resident Evil 4 (ISOs). The games I wanna run Silent Hill series, God Of War series, GTA series, Prince of Persia series, Metal Gear Solid series and others. My budget is 70$ Thank you in advance.

Maybe something like this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6814134135

Never heard of that brand personally but it's all I could find that had GDDR5 in your price range. I'd recommend Nvidia in general though

The above is probably the best youre going to get without putting a new power supply in that machine. Fortunately Lenovo use standard PSU's so you can replace that if needed.

But in terms of PCSX2, the 440 will probably be enough

I used to have an i3 2100 and a GT-440. Every games I played ran fine at 3x native resolution. A few titles such as Burnout 3 only ran smooth at 2x however.

RE: Help me choose my first gpu
The only PC game I plan on playing is Batman Arkham Asylum/City/New Tomb Raider. I mostly want it for PS2, XBOX, Gamecube and Dreamcast emulation. I can't find the required power supply, how do I know if it is PC meets the requirements? Will it fit in my PC? How do I find this stuff out? I looked around and found game-debate.com the say the PSU for the card is 300 Watt & 22 Amps / max power 65 Watts (I don't know what any of that means)

RE: Help me choose my first gpu
Ok. I decide to go with the "ASUS ENGT440/DI/1GD5 GeForce GT 440 (Fermi) 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready Video Card" because the reviews are better + the warranty. But I don't think it will fit. Card Dimensions 8.46" x 5.11" x 1.22" PC Width 7.1 in . Depth 17.3 in . Height 15.4 in. I hope I read this wrong.

On the Card Dimensions is it length - 8.46"/Width - 5.11"/ Height - 1.22" ?

What-- you think it's too long...?

Measure out that 8.46",
starting from the expansion slot at the back of your case,
going over the PCI-E x16 slot the GPU will go in,
and see if you run into anything.

FYI - Your case is practically as wide and deep as mine,
and I've fit a 12" card in before. Wink
