Help me configure my Emulator
#1
Hi everyone.

I'm totaly new to ps2 emulator, if you're be so king will u help me to configure my emulator. I'M trying to play Gran turismo 4 and Ratchet & Clank 1.

Priority is GT4.

As I read my computer specs should be posted:
AMD FX 8320
8 GB DDR3 ram (1600Mhz)
Asus Sabertooth 990FX rev 2
Gigabyte HD 5770.

For now my focus is GT4. Game has low FPS (around 20 - 30 in game), bad sound, and very low resolution.

Emulator version: PCSX2 1.2.1.r5873 - compiled on Feb 3 2014

Thanks for help.

You'll probably have to OC a fair bit to get full speed. Probably in around 4.2ghz. Ratchet and Clank will still be slow. Use the MTVU speedhack, along with all of the recommended once. The EE Cyclerate hack can also offer a speed up.

Thx.

I Know what is overclocking. I'v deone it before, but i want to know why is necessary to overclock?

I tried to change some things, after reading guide, but still 512x512 resolution (i think), sound still laging still low fps.

My setup is in attachment.

Oh and another question:

Wich OS si simpler to set up emulator Windows of Linux, cause i have both. (Ubuntu 14.04)

This cpu architecture is a bit weak for pcsx2 unless it's overclocked around 4ghz.
Changing resolution wont do the trick since your gpu is definitely capable of handling most games @3x native.
