Help regarding Startup

I have tried numerous times to get past the black screen, and now I get stuck at the "browser/configuration" screen (this is when I choose run-execute instead of file-CD/DVD).

Here is the data that appears in the window behind the player....

Reread the configuration guide, specifically the part about setting up the CD/DVD rom plugin.

If you run just execute, it will load the bios and bring you to the PS2 bios screen, you cannot load games from there. You have to either use a cdvd plugin and run it with the File/Run CD/DVD command or Run Iso(should you choose to convert your games to an ISO, which i recommend if you want any speed from your games)

if your cdvd plugin is properly configured, then clicking "run-> execute" will load the PS2 game. This method is actually required for some picky games like ICO. File -> run bios in the latest beta runs the bios directly, or using run execute with the cdvd rom plugin set incorrectly (intentionally or accidently so as to access the bios)

Koji,

I did indeed re-read the guide and the CD DVD plugin it talks about (EFP Iso CDVD v0.6.0 or PEOPS CDVD v1.3.0) is not listed as one of the available CD/DVD plugins. I also made sure I had downloaded the latest version of the software (the beta) and I did.

Help please!!!

Do you mean you don't have those exact versions or you just plain don't have those plugins at all? (1.3.0 is the latest PEOPS, but i've never heard of EFP. probably before my time)

If you do not have the plugins at all, you can get them here:
http://forums.pcsx2.net/thread-6830.html

Also be sure that you have the 0.9.6 version or the r1888 version of PCSX2, If you have a higher numbered version, it's not compiled by the creators of PCSX2 and is possibly why you do not have the plugins(the r1888 download contains the plugins if downloaded from here)
