Help with a purchase.
Evening, gents, been quite a while since ive been here.
Today, i come here with quite a delicate request - i am looking to put together a new PC from multiple ones.

Here's the catch - i cant seem to find a suitable motherboard that has CrossfireX/Crossfire support (for Dual HD 4890), either AM3 or AM2+, whichever one supports Phenom II or Athlon II CPU's but also runs with 4 Gigs of DDR2 800 Mhz ram.

Also, i live in Europe/Latvia, so it would be great if someone could point me out with a suitable place to buy some of these motherboards online. My budget is around 100 USD/70 Euros.

P.S. Anyone got any tips on what kinda CPU i should purchase? The budget is the same of 100 USD/70 Euros. I got an offer of Athlon II x4 620, but im kinda more fond to Phenom CPU's.

RE: Help with a purchase.
I doubt you can purchase both a good mobo and a good CPU with that amount. You could try for AMD Phenom IIs at either x3 or x4, but 4 cores is a price step higher. When i got my 945 almost 2 years ago, it cost me a good 120 euros. It should be considerably lower nowadays.

Unless you know someone who can find you used hardware for a good price and in good condition, you'll have to settle for either a mobo or a CPU.
Having a 4890 myself, i'd say that this CPU and this GFX are made for each other, you'll get a pretty good speed in most games with PCSX2, hacks included, but still.

Well i'm rambling. I'll let you know if i come across anything interesting regarding a mobo.

If you're going to buy a mainboard and a CPU, I have to recommend Intel here.
They build the faster systems, especially for PCSX2 (and other emulators).

Just to show it's possible within the budget, at least in Germany:

Well, i already have an Intel PC.

It's an Asus MB with Intel Xeon 3xxx CPU (Dual Core, yes), 4 Gigs of DDR2 Ram and HD 4890.

Currently, i am using a Gigabyte MB with Athlon 64 7850 BE (Dual Core), 2 Gigs of DDR2, another HD 4890.

The PC isn't mean too much for PCSX or Gaming as much as it is meant for HDMI, data storing and other purposes. The only time i could imagine gaming is through HDMI, on 42'' Full HD LG LED TV.

The idea is to get a MB on which i could put both HD 4890's on, with a Quad core CPU and about 4 Gigs of Ram.

I'm mostly looking into used CPU's, i actually found a guy who sells a Phenom II x4 945 for 90 USD and a Asus MB with CrossfireX support for 70 USD, but he's first going to try to sell the pc as a whole, so it's still a questionmark.

If anyone has any used Quad Core CPU's, i'd be interested, since shipping aint much of a problem.

The real kicker is that, as much as i'd like a modern Intel PC - such hardware costs money, and im only interested in putting in as much budget as the one i get for selling off my old hardware.

Any additional cash wont be spent, due to me gathering money for a BMW E30 320i Cabrio.

Those sound about like the prices of each part brand new...

Got a Gigabyte Ga-ma790xt-ud4p in used condition for 50 USD. Pretty much all i need and the price was great.

Got CrossfireX support with two PCI-E Slots, supports up to Phenom II 1100T (Six-Cores), AM3 with DDR3. Perfect.
Already included 4 Gigs of DDR3 ram in that list, now all i need is a decent CPU.

Think i'll settle for 1045T Phenom II x6
