As an example, my copy of ffx has a deep scratch during one of the fmvs while fighting sin after leaving besaid. I created the iso by skipping the read errors, and my game freezes every time it reaches that spot of the fmv. The onky way to progress is to use ffxed to modify my save.
So yes, he has his iso. But its quite possible he will run into errors down the track. All depends on what data is contained in that section of the disc.
