Any little tweaks that I can make while configuring it to speed up the fps a bit?

Hardware mode is better but... depends on your system specs if you can run it.

You need to tweak the speedhacks or remove stuff like anti-aliasing if you want to speed the game up. Also depends on what game you're playing.
CPU: Intel Core i5-3470 Quad Core @ 3.6GHz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
  • Your hardware specs - CPU, Graphics Card, Memory, Operating System.
  • The version of PCSX2 you are using.
  • Any non default settings you are using.
  • What games you are trying to play and if you are playing them from ISO or DVD.

Thank You.

SW mode don't have any AA ( at least demanding ones ) only FXAA and AA1 both of them not demanding at all

and if it's GS bottleneck ( using SW mode )

the best thing you can is using extra threads ( if you have more than 2 )

and disable MTVU

and enable EE cycling till you reach a level where there is bugs caused by it
(less resources used by EE more resources used by GS Smile )
