I've tried magiciso and imgburner to make .iso image files from the DVD but whenever I try to start it up PCSX2 crashes.

Use ImgBurn it's the most recommend method.
PC Specs
OS: Windows XP Professional SP2 32bit
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 2.00GHz
Memory: 768MB DDR2
GPU: SiS 650
SPU: Philips PSC605

what plugins are you using?

Download UltraISO and Then try Linuzapps CDVD Driver 0.7.0
UltraISO can make any type of Image, Try .MDF or .BIN 1st.

why Linuzapps CDVD Driver 0.7
never heard of any game that did run on 0.7 but does not on 0.8 ... but i heard of games where the other way around is the case!
