Current setup: PCSX2 Beta 1888, GSdx9 SSSE3 0.1.14, SPU2-X 1.2.0, LilyPad svn (r1853) 0.10.0

Saiki: Thanks for the offer, I eventually found 0.9.4 last night (sorry didn't see your reply at first or else I would have said something then) and use the NullSPU2 from that. Using that I finally got a Macross game my friend imported working for him.
