How to permanent save state

New here, so forgive me if any of this is against any rules or too obvious.

How does one save state a permanent, non-hotkey file? I need to make more permanent saves to come back to to test some things and I'm at a loss for how.

Save states are saved at "sstates" folder, just copy it if you needed a backup.
