How to use r985 to play Drakan?
#1
I'm trying to do a Let's Play of Drakan the Ancient Gates. I have the newest version of PSX2 that was released few weeks ago 0.9.8. There were a lot of graphic problems so I go online and find out that the game works best with r985 Problem is, they don't really say what this is. I download it, but I have no idea what to do with it. Is it a plugin, or do I need an older version of PCSX2? Now, that I have it, I would be eternally grateful if someone could tell me what he heck to do with it. Drakan is a great game, and I really want to LP it on youtube!

What graphic problems do you get with 0.9.8? What PCSX2 and plugin settings? Any screenshots?

I'm at work, so I can't get a list of plugins till I get home, but I am pretty sure they are all the default choices when you download the package. (except for the bios which are US)

The game runs at about 49fps and has a lot of tearing in the background. Also there is an inverted shadow of the main character in the center of the screen. I'll try and get some screen shots tonight if you want them.

Ok, here we go,

GS: Gsdx 4600 0.1.16
PAD: LilyPad svn r4510
CDVD: CDVDCicaherz (r4510) 0.8.0

I read that The r985 is supposed to fix these issues, but I do not know how to use it with my current PCSX2 version.

Here are some screen shots

Ah I remember now, you need to enable "EE Timing Hack" gamefix for those in 0.9.7/0.9.8.
