best to try it since your computer is in modern age

I haven't ordered it yet but was kinda hoping if i can get an idea on how it would run or would i have to upgrade to the i7 820.

I would recommend you do a bit of research on these forums. People are having issues with this emulator and the new mobile Core i7's. My suggestion would be to stick with a high clocked Core 2 Duo laptop.
But this is only if your MAIN goal and decision making relies on playing PCSX2. The Core i7's power is great for PC applications and such.
