I can't get this to work AT ALL.
#1
I've been trying for the last three days to puzzle this one out, and I can't do it.

I'm running a reasonably new computer (got it in December) with Windows 8, with an Intel i3 core, and specs well within specifications. When I try to run this, it doesn't work because of DirectX. When I try to upgrade DirectX, it doesn't work because of some file thing it doesn't like, and I can't figure out how to fix that no matter what I looked up and found!

I'm at my wits end here, I need HELP. Is there a way to skip around DirectX, or is there a way to make it work?

I downloaded that. It doesn't change the fact that DirectX won't update because "A cabinet file cannot be trusted".

i'm looming around google w/ this "A cabinet file cannot be trusted"
i think it's not DEP

*you might run that installer in a retricted drives.
Windows,Users,Program Files.
*been blocked by anti-malware software or anti-virus software

*where did you extract your DirectX libraries installer?

EDIT:be sure you run "DXSETUP" and not "dxwebsetup"

I put it in Program files...

*takes a quick look*

Wait, I didn't notice the installer thing. Upon using that, it updated and allowed me to pass through in PCSX2.

I thank you for your help, you let me figure this out.

Best idea to use web setup if UAC turned on.
Also not good idea to enable all UAC features via Local Security Policy.
If any other problems ,then need to use cmd prompt as admin with SFC /SCANNOW command.
For Win 8 2nd thing to try - DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Scanhealth
If willbe problems found ,then - DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth
