I feel like some parts/games should be faster...

Okay, to start, specs of me computer are:

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual 6000+
3.02 GHz
1gb RAM
Geforce 8600 GT 512mb

PCSX2 Version: Beta 1474

Speed hacks that I've seen stable in all my games:

Use x2 Cycle Rate
All 4 EE Hacks
Status Flag Hack
VU Cycle Stealing (in the middle)

Well, I do play several games at full speed and only slow down on really extreme parts. But some games are slow all the times or slow in calm areas.

Some of these games I talk about are:

Rogue Galaxy - ~30-40fps everywhere, only ~60 in game menus (not combat menus).
Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix gets really laggy in heavy combat areas and ~10 fps in other random parts (can't remember so much; played long ago)
Ar Tonelico 2 ~40fps everywhere.
Atelier Iris 3 ~20-30fps everywhere but inside building (I believe).
Mana Khemia 2 ~30-50fps in certain maps just because and obviously slow during the fast special ability.

Now, I just notice I didn't have Enable Patches and Profiler checked. Do I need either? I do see plenty of files in the patch folder...

I was thinking of getting another gb or two of ram, would that help or is there just something I need to do OR (notice the three part question...) is it just going to be slow for these games?

Thanks!

Try beta 1888 and dec 30, 2009 plugins, dood.
Also, check native res.
If you're using XP, 1GB is plenty.
2GB for Vista and 7.
Nappa: Vegeta! What does the scouter say about his power level?
Vegeta: It's...one thousand and six.
Nappa: Wh-...really?
Vegeta: Yeah! Beat him up Nappa!
Nappa: Yay!

Are you able to post links to both to save me some searching time? Smile

Also, I want to keep my saves intact, do I just copy and paste the memory card files or something else?

EDIT: Oh yeah, what's "native res"?

Both 1888 and plugins are in the stickies.
Yes, copying memory card files over should work, but make a copy just in case it gets corrupted somehow.
Native res is an option in GSDX.

Just amazing. Memory Card transfer worked perfectly, got everything setup and I instantly saw an improvement. 55-60fps across the board.

Thanks dr_thrax and thank you PCSX2 team. Laugh
