Are you using the SSSE3 plugin with your AMD, then? Cause if it actually is working in any way, I wouldn't be surprised if it's failing eventually (not meant to be).

The SSE3 thing is simple, and I assure you this is the fact:

There is not an SSE3 plugin for PCSX2, and most certainly never will be. AMD's SSE3 is a useless bunch of instructions ("bunch" being an overstatement) that are of no assistance with PS2 emulation. It is much like the case of AMD's SSE4a and Intel's SSE4(.1), where AMD failed miserable when competing with Intel, as SSE4a only consists of a handful of more useless instruction, where as Intel was sure to get some right with the ~50 some instructions they included.

(Fun fact: moderators here have access to a sort of automated response to this situation. I'll follow this post with it for you to see.)

Despite the similarity of the names, SSE3 is unrelated to SSSE3 and the same is true for SSE4a and SSE4.1.
AMD has to date not implemented the SSSE3 and SSE4.1 instruction sets on any of their CPUs.
Therefore the recommended GSdx version for AMD users is the SSE2 one.

There is a minor speed loss, but it is only about 10% overall.

if you come across a certain tech report article that says SSSE3 is implemented on phenom, you can disregard it as techreport are idiots.
