I need help for choose my graphic card
#1
Hello, i want to change my graphic card (My ATI 4850 512 MO) by a ATI 4850 (lol ^^) 1 go, you think that I can change my fps rate in a game emulated? I have 35 Fps with Tales of the abyss, 20 in Fate unlimited code...

My current configuration:

Ati 4850 512 MO gigabyte
Corsair XMS2 2 Go DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM (4 go)
Intel Q6600 2.4 MHZ 8Mo cash
motherboard: Gigabyte GA-G33M-S2L

I want to change something in my computer in order to obtain better results with pcsx2. Will trade my 4850 512 for a 1GO change anything ?

you can try to OC the cpu to higher frequency.

i had the E6600 (dual core version of your cpu) and i got full speeds at 3.6ghz but that was extremely unstable.

if your board can support the wolfdale chips E8400 etc (45nm) then you should be able to hit that same clock much easier, plus it supports SSE4 if im not mistaken. Laugh

check newegg for that chip it should be the best deal for your money

Check your gpu setting in ATI CCC, make sure all option to default and try to set in wait to vertical refresh option to always off, this setting give me more fps in FFXII Game and i try that in OS Vista sp.1, gsdx.v.868 0.1.14. Or you can try old gsdx plugin like gsdx.0.1.6 and gsdx.0.1.7 if those can give you better fps.

changing your video card won't help with pcsx2. Buy a new CPU. I suggest getting the E8400 since it's only $160. E8400 is enough for pcsx2.

Or you can overclock your Q6600 to 3GHz. >_>

Then you can try pcsx2 emulation in OS Vista (recomanded) this os can give you more fps in many games. Try tekken5, dawn of mana, soul calibur2, xenosaga eps.3. If you have those games, for me in Os vista sp.1 give me more fps rather than xp for games above. k
