I want to play Silent Hill 2 but emulator does not work
#1
I don't know how to configure my PS2 emulator.
I double click on "pcsx2 0.9.6"
I then go to file run CD/DVD and get a message about BIOS.

Why isn't this emulator programmed to just load games, why make it so complicated? If a BIOS is needed, where do I get one and where do I place it?

Sticky at the top of the forum labeled "Configuration Guide"

It's a worthwhile read.

As for why it can't be programmed to "just work", the answer is simple... The PS2 is a very complicated piece of hardware to emulate and thus requires proper configuration... Hence the guide.

The simple fact that you are trying to use a several year old version of PCSX2 is indicative enough of the fact that you didn't even bother looking at the official website before embarking on this endeavor.

You need to extract the BIOS from your PS2.

You may like I did back in 2007 have to spend half an hour in your attic to find the bloody thing Tongue.

Downloading PCSX2 0.9.8 Installer
I assume the instructions are the same.

edit: No BIOS file. Sad
Can someone just PM me a BIOS file or give me an exact google search?

amazing. When someone explains you how to get your bios, you keep asking for a bios file.
Congratulations, warned for piracy, and of course, thread closed.
