ICO and PCSX2
#1
Hello,

Is it possible to run ICO on PCSX2? I saw some Screenshots from this, but I cant start the game. The GSDX-Screen remains black and the Console screens says nothing (Last Line: loadElfFile: cdrom0:\SCES_507.60;1; CRC = 5C991F4E).
Newest Plugins+PCSX2 Build 1740, 1888 and 1913

Is there a special trick or smth, like on SO-TET/FaFr?

However, Ive got the PAL German Version, if this helps. On my PS2 Slim the game runs just fine.

Here is the Log-File:

I had some camera problems with newer versions. The game runs fine in 1474 with "extra" turned on for clamping.

You need to run using the BIOS, with ICO.
Just goto Run, Execute.

You're using an unsupported build with the new GUI which is in alpha stages. Don't expect anything to work properly with it (and we give no support for it as I already said).
Get the latest 1888 beta released on our site and try with that (suggestions above should also help)

Like I said:

I did Use Build 1740, 1888 and 1913

So if Build 1888 is supported, I can give you the Log-File of it, if you wantHuh
But it has the same problem, so doesn't make sense to give you an another log-.-

Nobody knows, why it won't start?
Execute through BIOS does not work, because it always goes to the Mainmenu and shows me the yellow Disk, but when I click it, the display goes black and it returns to the main-menu again.

I used an ISO of my GameDisk and the original GameDisk, no changes at all. Every other game boot just fine.

r1888 can be both new and old gui as could 1740 so I couldn't know which you are using and since the log was from the new one, i told you it's unsupported and in alpha stages.
Use the linuz iso plugin and before using Run->Execute configure it to read the ISO image of the game. After that is set, use Run->Execute and it should boot the bios and auto run the game without getting you to the bios menu with the cd icon

Do you mean by reading compress the ISO-Image or to set the ISO-Path? However both don't work...
Even resetting the inis doesn't help... Its real strange, keep in mind, the disk works with my PS2. If I use an other game and skip the BIOS, it runs just fine. Only ICO makes such problems, because it needs to run through execute... Even Shadow of Colossus does work.

If you need more information (Logs/etc.) don't hasitate to ask Wink
I know run->Execute did work in its early build stages with the CDVD-Plugin from Gigaherz, even CD swapping worked.

OK, I tried run->Execute with several games. But if I try to klick 8x or so on the icon, the game starts, except ICO.

Wait. Are you using an ISO or the actual dvd? If you're using an ISO do NOT mount it with any other external program. Just configure linuz iso to read directly your ISO file. If you're using a disc simply use gigaherz cdvd or peops cdvd after configuring them

Man Im not THAT stupidGlare

i wouldn't post this, if I would use an ISO-Plugin with a normal Disk...

Original Disk or mounted Disk doesn't work
Directly read ISO from PCSX2 or Plugin doesn't work either.

Maybe there is something wrong with the Disk-Detection from my disk... Corruptet or damaged sektors in the Bootstrap which my PS2 ignores. Would be cool, if there would be a hack or smth...

However, thx for helping me.

ICO needs to be run using run>execute.
I got the NTSC version and finished it on pcsx2. The compatibility list says that PAL works as well though.
