How well would a Intel HD 4000 do for most games with a I5 3570 4.5GHZ CPU? My GPU is going to be gone for a while as I am going to RMA it. So I was wondering if I could at least get full FPS on native with DX11.
Thanks

Right so its would be fairly decent for most then? Yeah I am well aware it depends on the game

From what ive played (my i7 3610QM has one of the faster variants of the HD 4000) I can run most of my games at 2x - 3x native (pal FFX-2 runs at 50 fps at 3x, 40 fps at 4x native for example). For others native should be fine. Obviously the more gpu demanding games may not run fast enough, but overall its not bad.
Some games perform better on a 610m than the HD4000 (generally the HD4000 is slighty better than the 610m) such as dynasty warriors (610m can run full fps at 3x, HD4000 can only manage 2x) so just find what works best.

If you're going to use native, I recommend to use software mode. In that case, the GPU is irrelevant.

I am currently playing Persona 4. I am shocked how good it runs but its one of the few games that DX11 runs so much faster than software mode does on the game. I tried Software on it and I was getting 28fps on average. I was like WTF?!? I can get up to 180fps on 4x native with my card but in software it runs at 28fps (even with 3 threads on).
Also my RAM speed is 1.6ghz
So an HD 4000 is slightly better than 610m? Holy crap that's bad...
Edit: Never mind about the software thing. I don't what was when I tested it out at one point. It must of been a glitch or something but I do get full 60fps on it though. So disregard that matter.

My cpu has intel hd 4000 graphics and it can't run star ocean on software mode but I can run it in hardware mode 4x so I guess it just depends on the game
