Invalid: System -> Shutdown ends pcsx2 1.3.1 with error
#1
Hello!

I noticed strange behaviour in the latest build of pcsx2 which I downloaded from git (v. 1.3.1-1266-geb387e1-windows-x86) - when you shut down console using menu System -> Shutdown - then pcsx2 finishes its execution with error, with Windows' notifications like "This program stopped working", "Searching for problems" etc. In the stable build 1.2.1 everything worked fine, console/emulation was finishing correctly.

Way to reproduce:
1) Launch pcsx2, run any game using your disk/iso
2) Shutdown console/emulation using menu System -> Shutdown. (you can at first close game window, pause it, and after shutdown there still will be error)

If you need some additional information, like log, dump etc., please, tell me where to find it, and I will upload it for you.

Thank you.

I can't reproduce this on my end. I used version 1.3.1-1266 and the latest at the time of writing, 1.3.1-1270.

Thanks for your reply, there may be something specific just for my computer/system. I would be glad to resolve the problem.

I created gif to show you how it looks for me (careful 9MB!)

Notification window says that there is an error (sorry, my system is running Russian)

Thank you!

Emulog could be helpful. You can find it in your progrm dir in the logs folder.

I think there may be something with rom folder check - I found these strings in the file:

Get Reboot Request From EE
CMD_READP call
CMD_READP call
CMD_READP call
CMD_READP call
CMD_READP call
CMD_READP call
ROM directory not found

If you need something else, please write!

Thank you!

Please try to set dev9 plugin to the null plugin.

Can you please try rebooting (hotswap vs reset) as well?

Set Dev9 to DEV9Null Driver 20151017143846 0.5.0.
Still have the same problem.

Also tried to replace plugins with the old ones from 1.2.1 - still the same result.

UPD: also just checked with the freshest version pcsx2-v1.3.1-1270-g1c8f8a0-windows-x86
Deleted all the old files, unpacked archive, launched exe, did not change any configuration, just set bios, selected and launched iso, and then tried to shutdown. Still the same problem.

I didn't get any errors either with 1266.
Does this happen with any game loaded or just Tekken 5?
Are you using Dev9ghz, and if so have you tried switching to Dev9null?

Thanks for your comment, I also tried Metal Gear Solid 3 - Snake Eater. I also tried with both different plugins and still have the same problem.

There must be something specific for my configuration, I just can not understand, what... Because I made fresh install without any configuration changes (like any usual user do) and have this problem. Maybe there is a problem with my installation? I just unpack downloaded archive to any folder, launch exe file, do initial configuration (by selecting language and folder with my bios) and then just select any iso file and launch. Maybe I should write some paths into some file? That would be strange, because all the plugins are working correctly...

What happens if you switch disks (hot swap vs system reset)? What happens on reset?
