check what socket your mobo has and than look if theres dual cores that fit that socket, cpuz will tell you what socket you have. if your mobo is not compatible with any dual cores and you need new mobo, check this combo deal on new egg http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealD...mbo.559285
that cpu will be good to run pcsx2 and it would be easy to overclock it to like 3.2ghz and you would get full speeds in almost any game

check the link i posted because i dont know of any motherboard that came with Pentium 4 and was compatible with Dual core, which means you need mobo too, the link i posted has exactly what you need, and if your ram is ddr2 it will work for that motherboard and your gpu too

Some mobos for P4 support Core2 as well even support quad cores Tongue2

But yeah, finding out what mobo it currently has would save a lot of trouble.

you mean some mobos for core2 and quads support p 4 , mobos that have been built for p4 do not support core2 or quads because they didnt exist when mobos for p4 were built

now that the class clown is long gone..

The truth of those sites is they are blogs, a good portion of them, while there are a FEW really good tech sites out there, you're not likely to find them so easily, or simply that site predates Pentium 4 HT models. Either way, the fact stands, the information you received was wrong.
