Is my computer too slow ?

the gpu is the bad point about this pc. using software mode will help a great deal.

*****. GPU is far enough for 95% of playable games at at least 2x internal resolution. I have similar card(8800gts g92) and yes,it not a killer card but as i said more than enough for normal play. In this config processor is definitely the weak point. We all know how AMD processor work with emulator. DOnt get me wrong- the config is good enough for normal play of maybe 70-80% of all playable games. But some games will required a litle tweaking ,also cpu overclock will help a lot!
MGS2 is pretty demanding game especially for processor power. But as you see with some speedhacks and not more then 2x internal res+ latest builds i am sure that you can achnieve normal speed.

@knightt dont make me laugh ,please Biggrin Blink . 6670 is entry level gpu, very weak and really not so powerful as you said it is. Comparison between both is almost unthinkable... 5750 beat 6670 in almost everything. Yes,pcsx2 is not in this "review", and i dont have either of those cards but somehow i doubt it that performance in pcsx2 will be something different that results in the link

my GPU:

Core clock: 700 mhz
Shaders: 1400 mhz
Memory: 600 mhz

the clocks on the GPU posed:

Core: 156 mhz
memory: 300 mhz

tell me that isn't a weak GPU..

You are kidding, right? You have never heard for 2d/3d clock of modern gpus? I dont know what program was used for this statistic but obviously it just show the 2d profile clock...
From the other side 2d/3d switch sometimes does not work properly and this is sometimes the reason for low performance. @Smith 117 must check this(whether gpu goes in 3d clock during gameplay)

ok, we can play that game too..

2d settings for my gpu:

core: 405
shaders: 810
memory: 324

I however have my PC at top performance 100% of the time

How you card and your 2d clock profile has something in common with this thread? I dont get your last post...

If you have a 5750 running at under 500Mhz, it's gonna be weak. Even running a 7870 at under 500 Mhz, it's weak. I think the program he used to get the clocks is cocked or something because I'm pretty sure the reference clocks are 650Mhz+ for the 5750 and the 6670. Also on modern hardware, there is no 2D hardware, all 2D operations are run using the shaders.

it's a SLOW card, there's no getting around that

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...Submit=ENE&DEPA=0&Order=BESTMATCH&N=100006662&isNodeId=1&Description=Radeon+HD+5750&x=0&y=0

all of these are 5750s

and this is mine:

Don't get your head wrapped in this idea I'm an ATI hater or something. my card is only slightly faster in most respects. but I know the limitations of it

I have an i3 @ 3.30Ghz and I get much better performance out of my CPU than my GPU, and once again, it's not MUCH faster than the 5750.

And before you call "*****" know who you are talking to. but I'm game for playing that game. I was reciently playing 18 Wheeler in first person (driver seat) and in HARDWARE mode I only got 20-25fps. do you think this GPU can outdo that? WITHOUT speed hacks (save for MTVU, which I disagree with being in speedhacks)

No offense, but I cannot make sense of your post after you mentioned you get better performance out of your CPU than GPU. Could you clarify all that please?

the fact about how I get more performance out of my cpu?
