Is there a way to limit fps on deactive mode?
#1
I have a

Intel i3 550 @ 3.20 Ghz
Envidia Geforce 8400GS
3 Gb Ram
1920x1080 HD Monitor

computer.

After reading the threads I found out a way to play some games (FFX, FFXII, among others) with great resolution between 1200x675 to 1440x810, and with FPS going from 55 to 65 average during game, which is very good, by deactivating frame limiting and giving the values 100 100 and 200 below in the same GS window. However, the videos play to fast, and the items windows go to slow.

My question is, of course, is there a way to configure frame rates for video and other stuff?
And, How does the Adjust % boxes affect the FPS?
I have used different settings like 80% 100% 200% with changes but still can get the grip of how they affect.

Actually I don't mind this much. To be able to play FFXII and other games with very good looking graphics is great; only have to be patient when looking at the weapons items windows.

Here are the base configurations for my games:

EE/IOP Default
Vus Default
GS:
Disable Framelimiting on the rest of this window default
Speed Hacks:
On
3 - 1
INTC on
Enable Wait Loop on
mVU Flag off
mVU min/max off the rest off

Game fixes off except when needed like in FFX videos.

I Thank you in advance on any comment that can help.

Using the gamefix that automatically switches to software mode when an fmv starts may be an idea...
Give it a try.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

First of all thanks for replying and helping but...

Sorry, I don't understand. what is svns and which version are you talking about?

I have:

pcsx2-5698-windows-x86

and

pcsx2-1.0.0-r5350-binaries

Is there a more recently release?

Never Mind, I found it in 5695.

Many thanks..

For example if you play PAL game which is running at 50fps,if you want the game to run at 75fps you will use 150% because 100% on PAL game = 50 and 50 / 2 = 25
So 50+25=75 which is 150%

If your pc can't give you 75fps,when you switch to turbo mode which is set for example on 150%,pcsx2 will just try to run as fast as possible but the speed won't go above 75fps

Now I understand. In addition, I have had situations where I see 103 FPS during the game. I will be adjusting as I go. Many, many thanks.

The game fix didn't work and this is because even in software mode, the frame limiting disabled does speed up the frames a lot. So I am back at square one with this

Also forgot to mention that the animations, not fmv's but game animations slow down about 25% with the configuration mentioned above

could be cpu not sure how good i3 are even at the speed, could also be that 8800gt that ageing card, even i had issue with my 9800gt and i7 920 with FFX at times new card fixed that

what you get with frame limiter off is irreverent you need to keep 60fps to keep it running at how ps2 ran and syncing cost power. the games are ment to run at 60fps so going faster or slow can and will break things
