i'm playing dark cloud, while i'm in the game menu, my fps is at 60, but everywhere else it sits at about 42.. after toying around with configurations i'm thinking its my graphics card but was wondering if it was something else or a way to get it running at least a little faster

use latest SVN with MTVU hack.
it could help since you have more than 3 cores

dark cloud is a little bit demanding during dungeon exploring and you only got AMD thus pcsx2 needs about 1.5x more above minumun requirements
for AMD users.

**EDIT
my i5-2500 also has a slight 1 second random-slowdown from 64fps to 54fps...so consider this game a little CPU demanding.

you forgot to link where the automated pcsx2 builds is.
http://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/
as mention above
use the MTVU hack for compatability of 3cores and above.

His problem mainly because his grapich card pretty weak rather than his cpu maybe equal with 8400Gs class and become serious bottleneck with his cpu. Mostly he must play with native res or lower than that.

That is very weak. Consider this as your problem.

Dark Cloud is not light-weight, but it certainly isn't that awful CPU heavy. Using speedhacks and such with that processor should be about enough (with a decent GPU).
