Is this pc will run pcsx2 fine ?
#1
Hello guys !

I've actually a laptop with a nvidia gt 540m and a i7 2630qm, it isnt actually enough to run pcsx2 really fine (dq8 is ugly for exemple in native mode ...).
I guess my processor is fine but my GC sucks a bit.

So this summer, i'll change it for a MSI GT70:
-i7 3630qm (wont change anything i guess, but anyway)
-nvidia gtx 670mx + 3GO as GDDR5 (3go is way too much i guess, but you know how work contructors ...)
-4Go of ram in DDR3 (not dual channel)
-7200 rpm HDD
-1920*1080 screen (so i wont play in a less resolution :x i find this ugly in others way :/ )

So, i'm begging you (pro guys !) to say me, is it enough or its just impossible to run pcsx2 on a "normal" laptop (i mean a not 4k € pc) Sad

RegardsSmile

Ps: sorry if i do lot of mistakes, i'm not english but french ^^

WHat is the clockspeed of this I7 ?
That said, DQ8 is quite GPu taing, so yeah, this GpU will give you an improvement.
But honestly, I wouldn't try playing it @ 1920*1080 with this PC.
Maybe 3x native, but not more (that would be an overkill anyways, since the visual difference between 3x & 6x native is minimal)

Its 2.4 to 3.4GHz.
When i said "1920*1080" i mean, in the "window setting" i chose 16:9 and i double click on the game's window to make it take the whole screen ^^

DQ8 must really be demanding because the only two games I have my 425M GT struggles with are Zoe1/2 and MGS2/3.

Edit: well I guess that's 4 games but still Tongue.

Keep in mind that you're using a laptop/notebook, the performance might and probably might be way less compared to their Desktop counterparts.

425M => m = mobile, so its a laptop ^^ and its scores is way lesser than mine on http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/mid_range_gpus.html

True but I've never played DQ8 so I can't really be an authority about it.

DQ8 is currently picked as a GPU benchmark tool for PCSX2...
