JUST A SIMPLE QUESTION
#1
Hi guys. I'm a new member here and I already read the topics that should be read first like the " Will PCSX2 run fast on my computer?", FAQ and others. But the thing is I'm not good in computer. My simple question is will pcxs2 work smoothly in my laptop? This is my laptop's specs:

ASUS K55V
i7 3630QM 2.4Ghz
8GB DDR3 RAM
NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 635M (2GB)
WINDOWS 8.

And my other question is why when I try to open Castlevania Curse of Darkness the program tells "Oh noes! ran out of memory" or something like that. What I did is create an ISO file using Imgburn on my disk of this game. Please help me. And please don't flame me or anything. I just want to learn. That's all. Thank you . Smile Have a good day

bryx atleast start with installing PCSX2 outside of Program Files. C:\PCSX2 or on another partition or harddrive would work aswell.

Another suggestion, instead of playing the game straight from DVD use a program like imgburn (which is free) and make an ISO file and run the ISO file. PC DVD drives aren't designed the same as the PS2 DVD drive and as such it can cause errors. Generally this just effects loading speeds and in game lag, but certain games just won't load straight from disc.

I already used Imgburn. But it still has the same problem. Do you think the problem is in the CD itself, and not in the hardware? thanks Laugh

Thank you for this tip. Since my laptop is new, I didnt notice that my battery settings is in powersaving mode. Making it into high performance made my games run in 3x native at 60fps. thank you Laugh

Every time I see a simple question stating itself and written in capitals, this already tells me the contrary Smile

The simplest way to answer the actual question is: depend on the game but previous posts already covered most of it. Not an advise and least yet a warning, just a recommendation to avoid thread titles all in capitals and lacking actual information about the context, many people will just bypass the thread without even opening it to see what's actually going on.

Do this,First install official pcsx2 version to any other drive (not in c drive).then go to pcsx2-config-clear all settings (note-it'll reset all u'r settings to default,u have to configure controls again, don't worry it'll not format u'r memory cards Tongue2).also go to config-plugin/ bios selecter.in gs-select avx-configure-adapter-u'r graphic card name-rendere-Direct 3D9 Hardware-ok.then go to CD/DVD select iso-browse -browse to u'r game iso image u created with imgburn before.then go to system-boot cd/dvd fast & play.did u see any error? If error comes again go to start menu-computer-right click computer-properties-advanced system settings-advanced tab-click settings-advanced tab-virtual memory-click change-untick automatically manage paging file-click on c drive-in custom size put initial size to 2000,maximum size-2000 too.click set.then click on other drive which u mostly use for games, softwares (where u installed pcsx2 also) in custom size put initial size-3000-maximum size-3000. Then click set,ok.(note-you must restart computer to take effects).don't worry it'll not harm u'r computer.this is virtual memory,if any application need more memory, then that application use your hard drive as memory.u can put more value if u have huge hard drive space.i don't know if u'r windows have different otions.u can go to computer properties & adavnced system settings.tell me if any progress made Smile

That's useless since AVX plugin is useful in software mode.
