Journey to a 7.9 WEI Rating
Hello guys I'm looking to get a sandy or Ivy system to 7.9 WEI even though its a *hitty rating system, Its fun to have bragging rights.

My first question is which Processor would Hit 7.9 with overclocking?

On my FX system I have 7.9 Ram and Processor, My ram is the bottleneck so i had to overclock it and it raised them both from 7.8 to 7.9

I don't have a 680 yet but that is a 7.9, Should i get a 580 or a 680?

My SSD is covered. its 7.9 Out of the box no Raid 0.

I want this
Intel Core i7-3960X Extreme Edition Sandy Bridge-E 3.3GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 130W Six-Core Desktop Processor BX80619i73960X
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...6819116491

I can pay for this In 4 months If I save. Although Id need 40 bucks extra.

You guys are probably like why pay that much for a CPU just go get a cheaper one.
I'd Rather have this, and insurance. So i can role it over latter into a new computer latter if something bad happens.

Overclocking and water cooling insurance is awesome.

I do kinda enjoy it as I continue to see evidence that WEI scores are uber-unreliable. Smile

Laugh I hear ya.

I'll admit--
I was a little disappointed my processor didn't even get 7.9 @ 5Ghz,
but at least it's obviously got some special needs (and again; horrible accuracy).

Ever checked out the Windows 8 Consumer Preview's WEI?
It goes to like 9.9, I believe.

Pretty cool, huh?
...
... .... ... Oh, yeah-- the OCD thing...

If that's the case Its your ram that's bottle necking the rating.

Because When I updated the timing and clock speed of my ram it bumped me to 7.9 on my FX.

My FX rated at 7.9 at 4.3 GHz with this ram on my 890FXA-GD70

I don't want to hack the WEI rating.

I just found out why windows Areo was failing, i left me V core increased after I brought the clock multiplier back down. I had it over clocked to 4.3Ghz stock but it was sitting at 58 - 61 c at full burn and that was too hot for me, Gonna wait till i have water cooling.

The Pic above is my 990FXA-GD80 board My old board was better than the new one.
See my emulators behind the Areo transparency?

Doubt it.
My RAM is kinda the fastest part of my system.

"Through the roof" according to WEI,
and smashes SSDs as a drive.
