The only thing i can think of is that the TLB miss was as it suggests, happened during loading audio data, at which point it probably expects a response from the SPU2 which it doesnt get cos something went wrong ;p

that would be my best guess anyways...

Don't worry about the sound, when those errors appear, nothing is actually playing anyway, so forget about it.

Let's get back to the "black menu screen after loading screens with sound and no gs activity" part. >_>

There doesn't have to be sound output for the emulator to hang on spu2 loading data. You obviously did not understand what refraction said. No GS activity means the emulator soft-crashed, which could be anything.

Don't get me wrong, that's what i'm trying to wrap my mind around. So basically at that point in the game, the GS plugin encounters some unknown problem, doesn't know what to do and literally blacks out. Enlightening.

Off topic, but i just wanted to let you guys know that Midnight Club 3 DUB Remix does not uncontrollably leak memory anymore. In fact, it has become quite playable, despite the fact that i can hardly get 40 fps in an actual race with the graphics as low as possible. I fear my ATI HD4890 is not quite powerful enough to run it better than that.
