Now I can play KH1 and KH2 OK but, the games seem to crash more often. (Windows restart as sound is like a "drill" and will not close without restart)

Previously used 0.98 & 0.96, I know when I had issue with 0.98, I copied all the plugins from 0.96 to 0.98 and cured lots of minor issues.

When does this happen mostly, intense fight scenes with bosses.

I am wondering if my system has the power to emulate PS2 with version 1.0.

Or how to verify gsdx32-avx-r5350.dll as at present it saying, file is not a valid dynamic library.

Has nothing to do with your problem. If your CPU doesn't support AVX (and yours doesn't), you get this message. Yes, perhaps it's a bit counter-intuitive.

would like to know what you mean by crash

if anything, it sounds like memory corruption

Squall,

Yes, I had thought of hardware or software driver issues. Memtest 86 done different Corsair memory 8gb of 1066.

I only play KH1 & KH 2. Worked fine in both 0.96 and 0.98 versions.

More detail on crashes:-

Will be playing game as normal, will get to a boss scene. Start fighting, will battle for a bit. Then screen goes lighter with box saying program is not responding, then ends with close program and PCSX2 1.0 closes but, sound is stuck in memory or cache or sound card. Nothing else in task manager to close or end progress. I have to restart system to clear sound.

That's intresting looking at that in more detail....... it's saying 0.98. I am using 1.0. (Def, checked short cut and location, with pvsx open says 1.0.0)

Do you think, because I am using old mem slots from 0.98 that it's a file corruption?

Before I un-install and re-install, veiws would be gratefully received.

0.9.8 save states are supposed to be unloadable in 1.0.

I suggest you try saving your game normally and reinstall. Also, make it a fresh install without importing your settings.

seems to me your configuration is a mess. its mixing old and new versions of the emulator

back up the states folder and memcard folders, and uninstall + delete any left overs

Thanks for replies.

Advice given has been used, so now have completely new PCSX2 1.0 installed and configured.

Will update on progress and if any crashes occur.

Without your help probably would not have found cross version conflict........ Blink

I did at one point think system was not powerful enough, as emulation does need alot more power than the system it was taken from......

Thank you again for help and advice.

Best wishes,
