Kingdom Hearts 2 Segmentation Fault

Hey guys,

I recently installed PCSX2 on my macbook pro (Running Maverick 10.9, Processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Graphics Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB) mainly just to play Kingdom Hearts 2 again. I believe I have installed everything correctly and I have been playing the game with no problem at all other then a few parts in the game, specifically the boss fight with Jafar, and the boss fight with Axel v.s Roxas at the beginning of the game where whenever these bosses would activate certain moves, or whenever I used reaction commands, the game would crash and I would receive this error:

Other then these parts I have not had any other crashes, and am pretty far into the game. I was able to get through Axel and Jafar by killing them before they used their certain moves. (Hours of grinding) But now I am getting this message after a cutscene and can not progress in the game. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

I was hoping for some help and not criticism on my choice of computer :/ I've been thinking that the problem could be with the ISO since the game runs fine except for those certain moments, anyone have any suggestions on what could be wrong? I'm up to the world that never was and really just want to finish the game but I can't get past this cutscene xD

don't pay attention to him/her. he/she just need some fresh air and sleep to get back to normal.

about your issue : very few people know about the mac version around here, including myself (I actually don't dknow if the game has a playable status)
If you want to be sure, try transfering your memcard save on one of your real memcards and try to get past this point on your real PS2. Just to see if this is a problem with your game or the emu.

Thank you for your response Smile I will try so tonight and get back to you as soon as I can. I was thinking it was the ISO since other then these certain moments, the game has been running beautifully, but I will let you know what happens.

Hey guys, sorry for taking so long to get back, been very busy. I was able to get past this point of the cutscene on my PS2 with the save file, so it must be some kind of setting on the emulator that I have :/ Anyone have any clues what it could be? Could it possibly be because I'm running Mavericks?

I know 0.9.7 alpha is supposed to run on Lion, but that's all ... Sad

My guess is that it is Mavericks. I was searching around the internet to see if more people are coming up with the same problem and I found some people on youtube comments saying they have the same problem, no solution yet though. This is extremely frustrating :/ anyone have any suggestions on what to do?

I FOUND A FIX!!! I was messing around with the settings of my pcsx2, and what I did was i went to config, cpu, and I turned off EERec- EE/IOP. This made my game lag like crazy, I usually play at around 60fps, this made it go down to 5fps, but low and behold, I tried getting through the cutscene and it worked!!! Then I just made a save state, closed pcsx2, turned it back on and loaded the save state and its working fine!!! Yay!

Edit: Just finished the game! There were a few other moments where the game crashed again against some bosses leading up to the final boss with the same error (Seg fault) but I just pressed escape and turned off Eerec and executed the game and got through them no problem xD

I have just installed pcsx2 and have this Segmentation Fault before any iso loads, so no games load. What do you think i can do?
