[LIST] The Most CPU-Intensive Games
#1
[Image: cigd6Rr.jpg]

This thread will obviously be a WIP (work-in-progress) for the time being. The goal is to compile a convenient list of the most CPU-demanding games for this emulator. For consistencies' sake, we'll only take test results from PCSX2 versions 1.0.0. and above.

For now I'll list the games that I've personally tested and/or know for a fact require a relatively beefy processor to run at full-speed (60fps). Feel free to post any relevant information about your findings; CPU used, CPU clockspeed, speedhack settings, ideal clockrate needed for fullspeed, software or hardware mode, etc.

This includes any scenario -- whether it be slow gameplay, slow cutscenes, etc. This thread's purpose is to isolate EE-bottlenecked games. The game doesn't have to be bottlenecked 24/7, any noticeable dips at specific areas, maps, situations, etc. count as well.

Also if you feel a game doesn't belong on the list (maybe recent revisions made it more playable or a submission is erroneous, etc.) feel free to refute it (politely!)

If you leave a testimony for a game or two, I'll link the best one to said game's ID in the main post.

I'll update the thread as necessary whenever I feel like. Tongue2

Good thread. +1 for you!

This goes well with my

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Which-gam...equirement

so I'm gonna make the companion GPU thread list, since that thread is more discussion.

Edit: Dammit, sorry for triple post >_<

Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex

About 50% of this game my PC can just BARELY keep it at 60FPS, the rest it exceed that up to 90. MTVU slows it down for me, as I've said before. My processor is an FX6300@ 4.12ghz as you know, I don't know if that counts as beefy or not.

Here is a shot at native resolution, only recommended speedhacks on(no MTVU). Turbo on so it can go as fast as possible.

Showing 66 FPS. And I do get drops as low as 57 or so.

I don't know if you wanna include it or not. I just thought I'd share!

i wouldn't say that was VERY intensive, or even the most. Baldurs Gate is far far worse than that!

It performs about the same as Xenosaga for me, CBWOC I mean. Most of Xenosaga runs 100+FPS but there are parts that drop as low as 55 or so. So that was my reasoning for mentioning, since it was similar.

I can easily attest to the snowblind games murdering any current cpu. I have ran the games on software mod at 4ghz for a 3570K and I was dealing with drops as low as 20 and that was constant zooming in helped slightly but not much.
