16 GB DDR3L RAM
128 GB mSATA Solid-State Drive and 1 TB 7200 RPM Hard Drive

IntelĀ® Haswell CoreTM i7-4700HQ (2.4GHz - 3.4GHz, 6MB)
GTX 870M (3.0GB) GDDR5

Yeah, they would run pcsx2 fine for the most part. Obviously some games won't run in hd or will run a little slow. If I were to get one, it would have to be the first one, as I would 256GB of hdd space really quick. It also has a faster cpu.

Thx for reply

Both get up to 3.8Ghz and 3.4Ghz, this isn't enough to run on maximum settings on 1080p (or even 900p)?

Some games have compatibility issues.

If you could list the games you want to play I could probably tell you if they'll work.

Depends if you can have this on all cores at the same time.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Im aware some games dont run 100%, but I think it may be related to the emulator itself and not lack of "gunpower".

I wish to play games that doesnt have HD reissues like FF12, Odin Sphere, God Hand, Castlevania's, RE Outbreak's, Fatal Frame, etc.

There isn't a laptop CPU out there that is capable of running PCSX2 at full speed in every game, or desktop CPU for that matter.

But as far as laptop CPU's go, you'll be getting the best available.
System:

Fractal Meshify C Dark Tint
Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wi-Fi
Intel i9 9900K (5Ghz 1.335vlts)
BeQuiet Dark Rock 4 CPU Cooler
32Gb Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB 3200 DDR4
EVGA RTX 2080
512Gb Gigabyte NVMe SSD (Boot Drive)
1Tb Crucial NVMe SSD (Games)
2Tb Seagate HD (Steam)
3Tb Seagate HD (Media)
6Tb Seagate HD (Backup, External)
Corsair 850w RMX Gold PSU

3.5GHz, not 3.8

I have a very fat gaming laptop with very good cooling and mine, while gaming, will stay at 3.5 GHz more or less (mine is a 4800MQ rated at 2.7 or 3.7 with TurboBoost and I have a 770m so similar laptop power).

Judging from that yours, with the same cooling, could stay at 3.3 or 3.2 GHz BUT as you are buying an ultra-thin one it's probable your cooling will not suffice to do that and you circle around the 3 GHz, little more or less depending on external temp; I need VU cycle stealing set on 1 already with my laptop to play Shadow of the Colossus without slowdowns so yours will need to cool it down a little; appart from that most games will play fine, I can play GT4 with 3x scaling with my 770m without slowdowns (at least noticeable) even in 2-player mode.

I would still get the first one, that 0.1GHz difference is minute but hey, in the words of wise Tesco, Every Little Helps!

Thx for reply, nice to read a laptop gamer toughts

Indeed cooling on thin laptops are a weak point, do you play with all settings on high?? What is your overall fps?

About scale/resolution wouldnt to be better set it to 1920x1080 (laptop resolution)?
If you set it 3x (3x PS2 resolution) it means 1440~1536p, isnt this res unnecessary since laptop max res is 1080p?

Correct me if I'm wrong

3x native is actually just 1920x1344
