I personally haven't had a problem with them, there are reports of cards overheating or being fried, but that is solved by manually setting the fan speed instead of leaving it on automatic.

On the nvidia page itself it is urgently advised to remove those drivers.

Those are the BETA drivers, not the official version, as stated here: http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index5.aspx?lang=en-us The most recent official (196.21) drivers don't have fan speed issues the beta version has. I've had the non-beta drivers for two months, and never so much as had a problem. I don't know why you guys downloaded the beta drivers in the first place.

No, the 196.75 were WHQL, the latest beta were the 196.34 which doesn't have the fan issues.

The fan issue didn't happen to everyone but of course no one should have to take the risk, I'm still using them myself... but it makes you wonder however, just what kind of silly tests do they make that they let such big bugs like that happen in certified drivers :p

Has anyone tested the recently released 197.13 beta drivers? After hearing what happened to the latest WHQL drivers, how can I trust the newest beta drivers?

well for one you could type nvidia drivers 197.13 in google and if the drivers would have any trouble its 99% most likely it will show up on the first page
