Basically, I've tried Shadow of Colossus and Jak II, they run slow and choppy at round 30-35FPS. Toggling F5 doesn't not help, all it does is mess up graphics or slow down gameplay even more. Shouldn't I be able to run PSCX2 emulator with really high speed or max?

Here are my settings, as you can see I even picked the crappiest resolution and I still run slow.[/code]

Shadow of Colossus is a very intensive game.

Basically, in before Rezard says "Even I cannot run it on my overclocked 4.9Ghz CPU without speedhacks."

Dunno about Jak 5, though.

Emulation is a very slow and CPU intensive process basically because our computer works almost nothing like a PS2. Even top of the line equipment cannot run it without speedhacks. Speaking of which, have you tried enabling them in your emulation settings?

Edit: Darn it, Rezard left this thread.

No, not any game. Even on my rig, I do need Speedhacks for some. Also, some don't keep full speed (or ever achieve it). This is PCSX2.

Shadow of the Colossus? I literally need VU Cycle Stealing. But that's just one particular game. Others may benefit well from it, while some would become "broken". VU Cycle Stealing is just one of the Speedhacks.

I noticed you're only using the SSE2 GSdx plugin. Your CPU supports SSE4.1. This can help a bit, too.

BTW - What is that PCSX2 revision? An SVN, or something? Because that's not the interface of an official 0.9.8's GSdx settings. It looks more like the 0.9.6 interface...

I use 0.9.8, I believe it's just those two games because I can run FF12, on max settings with 60+ FPS. Thanks for help.

Basically everyone can play FF12 on PCSX2, it's like PCSX2 was made for FF12. ^^ Just the FMVs have some problems on my side. Ingame it's just perfect.

Everything else is said.
